About the Course: 3-Day Starting Methods Workshop from Life with ARC Associate Living Master, Tina Garrett.
All levels welcome to participate in this comprehensive study of oil painting starting methods. Lessons include, open grisaille, accurate color wash, and Tina’s favorite, selective start. Students will gain understanding of form, value, temperature, edges and composition as well as color mixing, as Tina demonstrates how to control your palette for accurate values and color.
Tina will share her strategies that helps anyone achieve accurate drawing and her methods for taking your portraiture from a simple documentation of a likeness to a work of art. Tina will share insights on posing the live model. Painting from photographs vs. painting from life, studio lighting and painting materials will also be taught. Tina will demonstrate from the live model each morning and assist artists individually as they paint from the model each afternoon. Models will be a different color type each day.
As a Gamblin Dedicated Workshop Instructor, there will be both free samples and supplies that may be purchased during the workshop. The three days are designed to be progressive, so that the student has a full understanding of the correct execution of the methods.
Onsite lodging is available. See details here: www.barakafarm.com/Art.SWA/treehouse/index.html
