STUDENT ARTIST EXHIBITION APPLICATION

The theme for the 2019 National Conference of Artists 60th Anniversary National Convention is Standing in Times of Challenge and Change.  Students must be a member of the NCA to be eligible for participation in the 60th anniversary exhibition.  There is NO exhibition application fee, but only active student members are eligible.  The national NCA student membership fee is $25.00.  The deadline for student applications is February 15, 2019.  Acceptance notifications will be sent to applicants by March 2nd.  Artwork has to be received by Dillard University gallery between March 18 - 22, 2019.

Works on canvas must be framed or museum wrapped.  Three-dimensional pieces must be suitable for display on pedestals.  Accepted artwork should be marked as fragile and shipped to John Barnes, Dillard University Art Dept., 2200 Gentilly Blvd., New Orleans, LA 70122.  All shipped works must be pre-paid roundtrip.  First contact John Barnes at jbarnes@dillard.edu if you want to hand-carry your artwork to get a date and time to deliver your artwork.

PROFESSIONAL ARTIST EXHIBITION APPLICATION

This is a juried art exhibition where artwork will be chosen based adherence to the convention theme, Standing in Times of Challenge and Change, and available space.  The application deadline is February 23, 2019.  Your application can be emailed to ncaneworleans@gmail.com with three previous works of art attached, or postal mailed to NCA 2019 Exhibition, 2226 South Salcedo Street, New Orleans, LA 70125.  There is a $25.00 application fee that can be mailed with the address above or sent electronically to https://www.paypal.me/nonca.  Acceptance notifications will be sent to applicants by March 2nd.  Artwork has to be received by Southern University Museum Studies Program 6400 Press Drive, New Orleans 70126 between March 18 - 22, 2019.

 

The following guidelines pertain to artwork chosen for the exhibitions:

  • No organization, museum, or gallery is responsible for artwork damaged during shipping.
  • Artwork must be ready to display with frames or gallery wrapped with wire on back of two-dimensional work. Two-dimensional work with dimensions less than 40 inches is preferred.
  • Damaged work will not be displayed and returned to the artist
  • Three-dimensional artwork weighing more than 30 pounds must be installed by the artists or artist’s representative.
  • All shipped artwork must be prepaid and have accompanied prepaid return label. Works without prepaid labels will be available for pick up March 30th to April 30

OPEN POP UP EXHIBITION - MARCH 28 to 30 

This is a juried art exhibition where artwork will be chosen based quality of work and available space.  The application deadline is February 23, 2019. There is a $10.00 application fee (Limit of One Submission per Artist) sent electronically to https://www.paypal.me/nonca.  Acceptance notifications will be sent to applicants by March 2nd. Only active NCA members are eligible. Artwork must be hand delivered to Xavier University of Louisiana Art Department 3520 Pine Street New Orleans, La 70125 Thursday March 28 2019. Exhibition installation will take place between 4 pm to 6 pm at Xavier University.
