NewNow2026: CALL FOR ENTRY:
The exhibition will be held in Tri-C’s beautiful 3,000 sq. ft. Gallery East, 4250 Richmond Road, Highland Hills, OH 44122.
Cash awards totaling $1750 will be given out: Four chosen by the juror, and one additional award by popular vote from attendees at the opening reception. All proceeds from the competition will fund the artist’s awards and benefit the Artists Archives, whose mission is to support Ohio visual artists and preserve their important heritage for future generations.

Entry Details:
ELIGIBILITY: This juried exhibition is open to artists living in Ohio.
ACCEPTED MEDIA: Painting, sculpture, printmaking, drawing, mixed-media, assemblage, collage, ceramics, glass, installations, fiber, weaving, textiles, video & film, and photography. Jewelry will be accepted if it is made using metalsmithing or hand-formed using unique materials or techniques. Printmaking must be original - no giclée reproductions of work done in other media.
FILM AND VIDEO ENTRIES: Film and video submissions must be made separately at The NEW NOW 2026/ film, video. Photography should be entered in THE NEWNOW 2026, NOT the NEWNOW FILM & Video.
PRESENTATION: 2-D work cannot exceed 8’ in height or 50 lbs. in weight. 2-D work should be appropriately framed and ready to hang (neutral matting only, glass or acrylic where applicable, frames must be strong enough to hold the weight of the piece). Any painting stretched on canvas does not have to be framed, but should have finished edges. No saw-tooth hangers. 3-D work cannot exceed 8’ in height or 100 lbs. in weight. Work not properly presented for exhibition at the time of delivery will not be accepted.
ENTRY FEES: A total of three entries may be submitted for $40 and up to 3 additional entries at $10 apiece. AAWR Members in good standing may submit three entries for $30 and up to 3 additional entries at $10 apiece.
INSTALLATION: Please note that all accepted work will be installed by AAWR or Tri-C staff only, due to insurance liability concerns. No installation will be permitted by non-staff personnel.
CASH AWARDS: Awards of $750, $500, and 2 @ $200 will be given out by the juror, and an additional award of $100 will be chosen by popular vote. Images of award-winning work will be featured in the show catalog and all accepted artists will be listed in the catalog. Awards will be presented at the opening reception, September 3.
INSURANCE: Accepted artists assume sole responsibility for insuring their work.
SALE OF WORKS: Works may be for sale at the discretion of the artist. AAWR will retain a 40% commission on all sold work and will handle all sales of work during the exhibition.

To prepare images for uploading please adhere to the following guidelines:
- sRGB or RGB color space (standard) NO CMYK (typically used for printing industry)
- 72 dpi resolution
- Images sized to 1,280 pixels on the longest side, the other size width or height proportional
- Layers must be flattened
- 8-bit mode (standard)
- Jpg format
- Jpg compression at level 7 (Medium)
- Do not use characters other than a period preceding jpg in the file name. The following characters will lead to image uploading problems :!@#$%^&*()_+
As a submitter to this show you grant AAWR permission to include your name as part of future mailings and announcements. If you would prefer to NOT be included on our mailing list, please notify us in writing.
Artists whose work is chosen for exhibition grant AAWR the right to use images of their work for the purposes of promotion, inclusion in AAWR programs, and subsequent display on the AAWR website without further contact or compensation from AAWR.

ENTRIES: Begin April 1 and end July 1, 2026.
NOTIFICATION OF ACCEPTANCE: Artists will be notified of the acceptance of their work the week of July 31, 2026.
DELIVERY OF ACCEPTED WORK: Tuesday, 8/25 from 3-8, and Wednesday, 8/26 from 11-4
Work should be delivered to Gallery East, Cuyahoga Community College, Eastern Campus, 4250 Richmond Rd, Highland Hills, OH 44122. Parking for delivery is free in LOT H3, accessed most easily by the Harvard Road entrance.
OPENING RECEPTION AND AWARDS CEREMONY: Thursday September 3, from 6:00pm - 8:00pm
PICK UP OF EXHIBITED WORK: Monday, 10/26 from 11 - 4, and Tuesday, 10/27 from 3 - 8
AAWR & Tri-C will not be responsible for work left after 10/28/2026. Work not picked up will be subjected to storage fees and disposed of at the discretion of the Gallery Coordinator.
Jimmy Baker is an American mixed media painter, Associate Professor, and runs the Painting and Drawing department at the Art Academy of Cincinnati. He holds a BFA from Columbus College of Art and Design (2002), and an MFA from the University of Cincinnati (2004).
Baker has exhibited work across many American museums: Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art, Minneapolis Institute of Art, Frist Art Museum, Telfair Museum, Columbus Museum of Art, Cincinnati Art Museum, Contemporary Arts Center, and the Mint Museum; as well as gallery and art fair showings in New York, Los Angeles, Paris, Basel, London, Miami, Chicago, Baltimore, Portland and Philadelphia. His work has been featured in the Los Angeles Times, Artforum.com, Italian Vanity Fair, Art US, Artnet, Artslant, NY Arts, Artinfo, Glass Tire, K48, New City Chicago, Cincinnati Magazine.

Accepted film and video work will be delivered digitally via Dropbox, Google Drive, or physical delivery of storage media to AAWR. Digital delivery details will be arranged after jurying is completed, physical delivery will be accepted the week of 8/24 – 8/28/26 from 10 am – 4 pm at AAWR - NOT Tri-C Gallery East. Work not delivered by 4 pm on August 28, 2026 will not be accepted.
