The NVAL/Siskiyou Arts Museum Juried Show is open to all artists 18 years old and over. Work must be original, both in concept and execution.
If juried into the gallery show, artist must be a member of both organizations.
Eligible media:
Oil, Pastel, Water Media, Drawing Media, Alcohol Ink, Mixed Media, Collage, Printmaking, Fiber Art, Sculpture, Photography.
Ineligible media:
Computer Generated/AI-Assisted Art; Copied Work; Work done under supervision; Photocopies or prints of originals; Work done more than five years prior to the entry date of this show.
Work having one or more sides larger than 40 inches, including frame.
Juror: Our juror is Doug Souza, a local artist who is practiced in many media.
"As a lifelong artist and practitioner of many mediums, I have been asked to jury a variety of art exhibits and competitions. Everything from kids 4-H to large county and statewide art organizations.
Whether it’s the Sacramento County Fair Art Exhibit or the Folsom State Prison Art Show, the juror has the same responsibility – to read and interpret the language that the artist is trying to convey."

The 2026 NVAL Juried Painting is open to all artists 18 years old and over. Work must be original, both in concept and execution.
Eligible media: Primary medium must be paint such as Oil, Oil Pastel, Soft Pastel, Acrylic, Water Media, Drawing Media, or Alcohol Ink. May include elements of Printmaking, Mixed Media, and Collage.
Ineligible media:
Sculpture, photography, computer-generated art.
Work done under supervision (which includes any in a class or workshop).
Copied work.
Work previously accepted into any NVAL juried show.
Work done more than two years before the entry date of this show.
Work having one or more sides larger than 40 inches, including frame.
Juror: This year’s juror is Andrew Patterson, a Professor of Visual Arts at Shasta College, Redding, California. He teaches studio art and art history. He specializes in perceptual painting, and strives to capture the appearance of a place, its sense or feel, as well as underlying social structures.
