The National Capital Art Glass Guild announces the Call-for-Entry for The Language of Glass at Gallery B, 7700 Wisconsin Ave E., Bethesda, MD 20814.
Welcome to the captivating world of The Language of Glass. This exhibition encourages artists to explore the dynamic qualities of glass through movement, flow, form, surface, color, and lines. We are seeking pieces that showcase the various methods of expression in blown, mosaic, fused, stained, or lamp-worked glass.
The show will run from May 1, 2026 - May 24, 2026. The artist's reception will be May 2, 2026 from 7:00 - 9:00 pm.
The entry fee for this show is $40 for 1-4 pieces.
NCAGG will present three awards for work in this show: (1) Best in Show Award with a prize of $150 plus a one-year NCAGG membership; (2) Honorable Mention Awards, each with a prize of a one-year NCAGG membership.
Artwork can be wall-hung, window-hung, pedestal or free-standing. Jewelry must be hung in a frame or be accompanied by a stand and a clear plexiglass cube to protect it.
Artwork must have been created in the last three years, must be original in design, display excellence in quality and technique, and may not have been in a previous NCAGG show.

Jury selection results will be announced on or before March 29, 2026.
Accepted artwork should be delivered Tuesday, April 28, 2026 between 11:00am and 4:00pm.
Unsold art must be picked up Sunday, May 24, 4:00 - 6:00pm or Monday May 25, 10am - 2:00pm
This show is only open to NCAGG members. Non-members may join NCAGG at https://www.ncagg.org/join-us and then submit their work. The closing date for entries is March 14, 2026.
Work must be at least 60% glass, and glass must be the focal point of the piece. Entries may be in any glass technique or style, such as kiln-formed, stained glass, flame-worked, blown, mosaic, etc.
All work must be original in design and of high quality.
All entries must be for sale. The artist will receive 70% of the sale price. NCAGG will retain 30% from each sale.
Display requirements: All entries must be structurally sound and completely ready for display, including any hanging hardware or stands.
Wall Hung: Wall pieces should be equipped with a wire, D-ring, or French cleat on the back. Wall pieces must not weigh more than 30 lbs.
Window Hung: All window hung pieces must have suitable hardware, such as D-rings or eyebolts, already attached. No hanging wire or chain should be attached. Pieces will be hung with 1/8” wire rope. Window pieces must not weigh more than 30 lbs.
Pedestal pieces must not exceed 18 inches in length or width. NCAGG will provide pedestals.
Jewelry: Jewelry must include an appropriate display, which should be shown in the submitted photos. Jewelry can be displayed on a pedestal if an appropriate stand and plexiglass cube to cover the piece is provided by the artist. Jewelry pieces can also be framed and hung on the wall. Please contact the co-chairs to discuss appropriate display features.
Freestanding: Freestanding pieces must fit through a 60" wide x 80" tall doorway and weigh no more than 100 pounds. Pieces must stand on their own and require no attachment to floor, wall, or ceiling.
You may submit 1 main photo and 1 detail photo per piece. Digital photos of your work should be JPEG format and between 1800 and 2500 pixels on the longest side, and 1:1 aspect ratio. Images submitted as entries must correspond to the actual work. Maximum file size for each photo: 5 MB.
NCAGG does not insure artwork in the exhibit. We strongly recommend that you carry your own insurance to cover the artwork during transit to and from Gallery B and while it is on display in the show.

Each piece equals one entry. Four pieces (entries) are allowed per person; four entries equals four pieces. The cost to enter is $40. Each entry can have two photos: one main and one detail.
