2025 - Teen Division - Wildlife / 1st Place
Friends of Heinz Refuge (FOHR) is excited to announce this year’s photo competition, "Nature in Focus 2026”, celebrating the beauty and diversity of the natural world found at the Heinz Refuge through the lens of photography. From breathtaking landscapes and stunning wildlife, to intricate patterns and textures found in nature, we encourage you to explore the endless possibilities of capturing the essence of the natural world.
The Teen Division is open to photographers, aged 13 to 18 (if in High School at the time photos are submitted). There are no restrictions on the type of camera - film, digital, cellphone - used. Whatever your skill level as a photographer, we invite you to showcase your talent and passion for wildlife and nature photography.
- All photos submitted must be shot within the confines of the Heinz Refuge.
- Teen photos may be submitted for FREE! - Up to 3 photos may be submitted.
- Parents/Guardians of teens under age 18 must register in SmarterEntry on behalf of teens.
- Prizes: 1st, 2nd and 3rd Teen Divison photos will receive cash awards; additional cash prizes will be awarded for Best in Show, Best Wildlife Photo, Best Nature Photo, People's Choice Award and The Bill Buchanan Award across all age divisions (Children, Teen and Adult).
The top images will be selected from all teen entries and photographers will be invited to submit their photographs for exhibition at the Refuge with a chance to receive cash awards. Winners will be announced during the Philly Fall Nature Fest in September.
